CONTROLLING GOVERNMENT SPENDING
Roger Nutt has been a small businessman in our community, and knows what it takes to be able to sign the front of the paycheck, not just the back. Roger knows that, since government has grown over 40% in the past 4 years, it is time for spending and tax reform in our state. Roger supports a spending cap that can eliminate the state income tax within a generation.

EDUCATING OUR CHILDREN
South Carolina now ranks last in the country in high school graduation rates and second to last in SAT scores. For a state that spends more than $11,000 per student on education, we are not getting the return we need on our investment – partly because less than half of that money actually gets to the classroom. Roger supports reforms to put more of those dollars directly into classrooms, and out of Columbia bureaucracy.
REFORMING OUR GOVERNMENT
The main reason that our state government costs 30% more than other states is that we still hold to an 1890s government structure. Roger supports restructuring reform to eliminate some boards and commissions, unify the Executive Branch under a single authority, eliminate the "Budget and Control" Board, and save taxpayers hard earned dollars.
